Picture yourself soaking in the diversity of Europe, enjoying the journey as much as the awesome destinations! Over the next 10 days, we’re traversing the Alps as we make our way from the world fashion hub of Milan, up to Switzerland, before dipping our toes in Liechtenstein and then onwards to Germany and Austria. We visit beautiful Swiss villages and epic towering mountains, eat way too much cheese and learn why cheese and beer are NOT a match made in heaven! The town is framed by epically beautiful mountains, with dense forests, meadows, and sparkly glaciers – a perfect stop to enjoy all things Swiss - great fondue, raclette, mountains and lakes, swiss chocolate, or a few adventure activities.

Arriving early afternoon will give us plenty of time to settle into our accommodation and then head out to explore this super beautiful location. If you were dreaming of a traditional swiss meal tonight, then we’ve got you covered! We know of a great local place to have a traditional Fondue meal!

So today we have an a la carte menu of adventures as long as your arm.

We have a number of activities planned today including a thrilling Jet boat ride and then your choice of afternoon activities.

Jet boating on the lakes gives you a unique perspective on the local sights. Our jet boat adventure happens on Lake Brienz as your captain and guide shares local stories while zipping around the lake and making 360 turns!. You'll even get up close and personal with the famous Giessbach Falls. It's an adrenaline-packed adventure with stunning scenery, a unique lake experience!

Skydiving and para-gliding high above the Swiss Alps is hugely popular and gives you really amazing views of the lake and surrounding Jungfrau and Monch peaks. If getting to the top of the mountain is your preference, then jump on the famous rack-and-pinnion train to head to Europe’s highest train station on the 4,158 metre ungfrau mountain.

This picturesque alpine country is so small, it’s one of the least visited in Europe - which makes it pretty special and definitely unique in our eyes!
We’ll arrive into Vaduz mid to late afternoon. Its compact size makes it easy to explore, from charming streets to the iconic Vaduz Castle with stunning mountain views.

Despite its small stature, Vaduz packs a cultural punch and we’ll spend the rest of the day getting lost in some incredibly amazing back streets!

Check out our Q&As

  • What are the toilets like?

We actually get asked this a lot. Most of the time, the bathrooms are normal 'Western' toilets but sometimes, in the most unusual places, we encounter 'drop loo's'. Don't let this put you off - it may be a change from what you are used to, but embrace the challenge and learn to accept and celebrate the cultural differences that make up travelling!

  • Are the local guides on the tour English speaking?

Yes. All out guides are English speaking. We embrace a multi-national group dynamic and believe that making friends with fellow travellers of differing nationalities is imperative to learning and expanding one's travel experiences!

  • What are the closest Airports to the start and finish of the trip?

Arrival Amsterdam: Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Departure from Milan: Malpensa (MXP, 45 Km from the city centre), Linate (LIN, 7 Km from the city centre) and Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY, 50 Km from the city centre). Tipping: Tipping is not required but if your service has been great, then we’d recommend leaving a given amount i.e 5 euro per table

  • Suitcase or backpack.

Definitely a backpack, and we recommend packing light. You will be moving between locations with walking between some transport and accommodation. Wheelie suitcases are not recommended!

  • Can you assist with pre or post tour accommodation?

Absolutely yes! We have deals in every location we start or finish a tour in. You are welcome to contact us directly and ask for help! https://about.thiswillbeu.com/book-a-meeting/

  • Do you require a visa for this holiday?

Visa's will depend on your passport and/or country of citizenship or residency. We are not visa specialists and cannot legally advise you of visa information, other than to direct you to the EU website for more information: https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias_en

  • Can I wash my clothes along the way

In most hostels we stay at there will be washing and drying facilities. The problem is, we’d rather you be out enjoying your new surroundings than stuck in the basement doing laundry! So, we recommend that you bring 10 x base layers of socks and underwear, and then clothes that can be aired easily at night and re worn a second time! That’ll keep your backpack light and your wanderlust high!

  • Are airport transfers included in this tour?

Unfortunately not, but is easily accessible by train from the airport

  • What charging plugs do I need?

We recommend your customers pack an international converter as they will be changing many borders with different plug types.

  • Are all entrance fees included in the price?

Pretty much! Head to head, a U. Trip has more paid for inclusions than any other tour operator. Head to the itinerary and inclusions list on our website https://thiswillbeu.com/11-days-netherlands-belgium-france-and-italy-route-de-soleil/ for a full list

  • What currencies are required for this tour?

    Euro

  • What is the standard of the hotels on this tour?

We are so pleased you asked! U. always endeavours to create memorably unique stays in local communities. Your U.Trip is bound to be a mix which makes classifying something as 3 star for example, near impossible. If its a hotel, we aim for no less than 3 star. if it's a hostel, then we've chosen the coolest ones, and otherwise you can look forward to guess houses, lodges, beach side bungalows and much more!

  • Is there any free time to explore places during the tour?

Yes there is. You have choose a group trip which gives you safety and structure with a whole lot of inclusions, but we appreciate that you need time to yourself too! Depending on which U.Trip you are taking, the free time will be outlined in the itinerary.

  • Can I change money on the trip?

It’s super hard to change money while ‘on the go’. It’s possible - there will be opportunities at the different train stations, but it’s much easier to just draw money out of the ATM’s which will be accessible every day of the trip.

  • Is free Wi-Fi available in the accommodation used?

WiFi is scattered depending on the locations we stay at. In the bigger cities most of U's accommodation choices have WiFi. But U. prides itself on its unique accommodation stays, of which many do not have WiFi or internet coverage. Take on the challenge to be unplugged and present!

  • How much walking will there be?

We are on our feet quite a bit, with walking tours in most locations. This is so you can best explore the ‘off the beaten track’ places with your guide. So pack a really decent pair of sneakers as your primary shoe!

  • What is the maximum group size?

We have a max limit of 16 persons. On occasions that may change. We will inform you if that happens so you understand why - it will always be for a very good reason and is an exception to the rule!

  • Is there drinkable tap water?

We encourage you to bring a durable reusable bottle and use tap water from the drinking stations in each accommodation

  • €, $, Money Honey

Budget for approx. €30-40 EUR to cover meals and incidentals not covered on this tour. Good new is that there are ATM's at different spots along the tour where you can grab local Euros

  • Will passengers from another country be participating in the tour?

Absolutely, unapologetically YES! Travel should challenge you to step out of your comfort zones, meet new people, share a part of yourself and enable you to be open to share parts of other cultures. Stop being an arm chair tourist and start interacting with other global citizens!

  • I have unusual dietary requirements - will you help me?

Of course we will! But its super important that you let us know when you book, so we have time to accommodate you!

  • What time zone is this trip in?

All countries visited are Central European Standard Time (GMT+1)

  • Are all the relevant entry visa’s included in the price of the tour?

No. We do not work in the space of Visa's. It's super important that you do your homework early and consult the host countries authorities in your area for up-to-date information.

  • Can I use my rail pass before or after the trip?

We have purchased just the right amount of days to see you around the circuit. There may be the opportunity to upgrade your pass to more days at an added cost. Please contact our U. Community Care team to discuss

  • Are vaccinations required for this tour?

It's always recommended that you check the status of recommended vaccinations and possible medications (such as malaria pills) from the consulate of the country you are travelling too. Please check early - the responsibility is yours and forms part of your travel challenges!

  • What is the fitness level required to do this tour?

There are aspects to every tour that make it necessary to get out and be a little adventurous. Most of our tours can be undertaken with the minimum amount of fitness. If you are worried about anything in a U.Trip, don't let it stop you from joining in - ask us for a variation. We just want you to have the best time!

  • Is there a limit to luggage that can be brought on the tour?

It is not sensible to bring too much. Each tour will have different packing needs and a recommended luggage limit with a suggestion as to what kind of bag to bring. Please check in with us pre-travel so we can update you personally! We absolutely recommend you bring a backpack and not a suitcase - as we are travelling by train, there is a bit of movement between hotels and train stations - often on cobblestone roads!

  • Are flights included in this tour?

This is the cost for a U.Trip Only. Contact us at http://trinustravels.com for flight and insurance information

  • Are children permitted to take part in the tour?

    U. Trips are designed for 18 to 'thirty somethings'. Given that we have nights out and visit bars and party on beaches, we have set the minimum age as 18.

  • What Ethical Travel credentials does the tour company have?

    U. are currently in the process of becoming BCorp certified which tightly governs our way of creating and delivering ethical travel. We are set apart in the Responsible Tourism space by committing to our Ethical foundations and putting People + Planet before Profit. This makes us unique. All aspects of your trip with U. is carbon offset, from your accommodation and meals, to your transport and activities!

  • Do you operate a “single share” option and how does it work?

Upgrading to a single room is not always possible. There will be a cost difference and we have to apply to the accommodation providers for the specific dates of the trip departure you'd like to join - so let us know early and we can see what we can do! This goes for the twin share / double upgrade too!

  • Who will be my travelling companions on the tour?

    U. are fiercely proud to offer multinational trips. This means that you have the wonderfull opportunity to meet people from a full range of nationalities and make friendships which transcend borders. The average age sits between 18 and 28 normally, but our trips are open to all over 18 who have a young at heart mind.

  • Can I join the tour once it has departed?

Logistically, yes! The cost is the same, and connecting with your group has to be done in the evenings at the accommodation as we cannot pick people up We have to charge you for the full tour though as we can't sell that place to someone else - the cost

  • Am I contributing to any charity by booking the tour?

    U. leads in the space of Responsible Tourism. Every part of your
