Everest Base Camp Trekking

You may arrive at Kathmandu at any time. When you land, you will be greeted by one of our airport representatives. He will help you get transferred to your Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

This day is reserved for a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu. You will visit the city's major UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which include the Pashupatinath Temple, the Bouddhanath Stupa, the Swayambhunath Stupa, and the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Each of the sites presents amazing artwork like woodcraft, stone statues, and metal carvings. After the tour, you will be dropped back to your Hotel. Overnights stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

You will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Lukla. The short flight to Lukla is quite exciting. You can get good views of the mountain peaks from the plane. From Lukla, you will then begin your relatively short trek to Phakding, passing through the hills. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Phakding.

Today, you will have a comparatively long trekking journey from Phakding. You will follow the pathway towards the Dudh Koshi River and then wind along the woods until you reach Monjo, which is where you will enter the Sagarmatha National Park. From there, you will then trek under the baldachin of the pine and cedar woods towards Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Namche Bazaar.

This day is reserved for acclimatization. Namche presents good views of the Everest peaks, like the Ama Dablam, the Thamserku, and the Kongdi RI among many others. You can visit the village's Sherpa Culture Museum and the Everest Photo Gallery. You can also visit the Syangboche Airstrip and the Everest View Hotel. At each step of the way, you will get a good view of the Everest peaks. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Namche Bazaar.

From Namche, you will follow the terrain down towards the Imja River and then follow the valley's deep woodlands and pastures towards Tengboche. The village is situated at the confluence of the Imja and Dudh Koshi Rivers and presents tantalizing views of the Ama Dablam Peak. You can also visit the monastery once you reach the village and offer prayers at the monastery hall lit with butter lamps and filled with the aroma of incense sticks. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Tengboche.

Following the branching pathways, you will trek down the valley and up hillocks once again, crossing the river via suspension bridges to reach Dingboche, the summer valley of Khumbu. Along the way, you can amazing views of the mountain peaks, especially bright against the emerald landscape. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Dingboche.

This day is reserved for acclimatization. You can spend the day relaxing at Dingboche or choose to visit the vantage point of Nangkar Tshang. The climb up the vantage point is rather challenging, but the view from the top is definitely worth the effort. Nangkar Tshang presents breathtaking views of the Everest massif as well as of the sprawling Imja river valley below. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Dingboche.

Today's trek is relatively uphill where you will steadily gain elevation. Passing through the woods and the pastures laden with yaks and occasional Herder's Huts with chortens and Gumbas with fluttering prayer flags, you will reach Lobuche, a village surrounded by tall peaks. Along the way, you can get good views of peaks like Everest, Lobuche, Nuptse, Lhotse, the Ama Dablam as well as many other neighboring Himalayas. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Lobuche.

From Lobuche, you will follow the well-trodden pathway that is starting to get a bit moist with snow. Trekking past the rock-strewn oblique, you will make your way uphill towards Gorekshep. It used to be the base camp before the location of the base camp was moved further up. It is a sparsely populated little settlement from where a few kilometers ahead lays the Everest Base Camp. From Gorekshep, you will make your way to the base camp, following the Khumbu Glacier Moraine. Upon reaching the base camp, you can see the Khumbu Icefall as well as the Khumbu Glacier. After taking in the views at the base camp, you will then trek back down to Gorekshep. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Gorekshep.

Early in the morning, you will trek towards the vantage point of Kalapatthar from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the entire Mount Everest massif. The sunrise view amidst the mountain peaks from Kalapatthar is utterly gorgeous. After the vantage point, you will then make your way back down to Pheriche, following the same pathway as you did before. The climb back down is fairly easier than the upward trek. From Pheriche, you will have a pleasant trek towards Khumjung, passing by the woodlands once again and crossing rivers via suspension bridges. The landscape is very beautiful and you will also be passing by many mule and yak caravans. Finally, you will reach Khumjung, a small village that presents good views of the Everest peaks from the village-square. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Khumjung.

Following the woodlands once again, you will come through many clearings and ravines as you trek back towards Monjo. When you reach Monjo, you will be exiting the Sagarmatha National Park. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Monjo.

Bidding the Himalayan foothills goodbye, you will wind your way back to Lukla once again, passing by Phakding. It is a relatively flat-leveled trail, mostly downhill. Overnight stay at the guesthouse at Lukla.

From Lukla, you will bid the Everest, mountains goodbye for the last time and have a flight back to the city. Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred back to your Hotel. Overnight stay at the Hotel in Kathmandu.

Approximately three hours before your scheduled flight, you will be transferred to the airport for your departure.
