2 weeks Volunteering / Garden Route Adventure

You are collected from the airport and taken to the volunteer house. You will be shown around and given a map of the area. You have the day at your own leisure so you can explore the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. In the evening you are served a welcoming meal at the hostel.

DAY 2:

Start the day with breakfast -self served. Your friendly staff member will teach you about the bus system before you head out to Cape Town city center.

he Cape Town Volunteer Project is flexible and volunteers need to use their initiative and run parts of the project on their own.
The main objective is empowering the local community and supporting them with their basic needs. We regularly distribute food hampers to the underprivileged and clothes in the winter. We engage these communities in regular education, motivation, and social upliftment programs and exciting events such as fun at the beach, various sporting activities and movie outings which are hosted throughout the year.

Volunteers will help with the daily running of the programs for example:

Teaching lessons to children in the older groups (colours, letters, shapes, art, etc.) as well as teaching English through play and vocabulary stimulation.
Stimulating smaller children in the younger groups with developmental toys, touch and by speaking English to them.
Assisting with the tasks at the preschool such as cooking, cleaning, feeding and hygiene
Supervising children at all times during outdoor or free play

Volunteers will help with the daily running of the programs for example:

Overnight in Addo (During peak season 10 Dec to 10 Jan, will overnight in J'bay this night too)

- Jeffrey’s Bay beach free time or Surf, Beach Horse ride or Sandboard optionals
Overnight in Jeffreys Bay

- Tsitsikamma Zipline optional

- Tsitsikamma National Park
- Knysna Heads lookout point
Overnight in Sedgefield, Wilderness area

Day 5: Wilderness
- Wilderness Canoeing
- Botlierskop 4x4 Safari optional or Mossel bay beach
Arrive back in Cape region by evening
