Highlights
Itinerary
Day 1 : Inner Islands
Location: Ucluelet
Accommodation Name: Cedar Barrel Glamping Pod with King Size bed
Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner, Snack and Dessert
We will meet at 200 Hemlock Street at the Small Craft Harbour finger "F" to load all gear and head out, the boat ride will take approx. 30-60 min. You you will get a chance to take in the rugged and breath taking beauty of the coast and Barkley Sound. We will be dropped of at one of the many sandy beaches within the Broken Group Islands, where we unload all our gear and kayaks. After unloading and sending off the water taxi we will now proceed to pack all our gear into the kayaks, don’t worry, we will assist and teach you how to fit everything in, do a safety pre-trip talk, explaining and demonstrating the fundamentals of kayaking; like how to get in and out, sitting position, how to paddle, what to do in an emergency and of course answer any questions or concerns you might have. Your Guide will assist you if needed with launching your kayak and off we go.
Please never be shy of asking questions, whether it is about safety, kayaking, the abundant sea and wild life we encounter or forest ecology. All our Guides have been working in this part of the world for some time now and are extremely knowledgeable about the area and most plants and critters that live here.
Our itinerary will be determined by group ability and weather. Just to give you a rough idea we are aiming to paddle 4-6 hours a day. So there is plenty of time for other activities and relaxing. As we are paddling in between the islands there are plenty of opportunities to take pictures, have a snack and relaxing. Our philosophy is comfort , we believe that fun and adventure shouldn’t be painful or to strenuous. With that in mind we will make sure to have a fine balance between covering ground and giving everyone enough rest in between paddles. At around noon we will stop for our first lunch break, your guide will prepare a delicious meal while you kick back and relax and take in the beauty nature has to offer.
After everyone's belly is filled and we all had a good rest we will continue to paddle within the park. In the afternoon the water taxi will pick us up and bring us to our private glamping base camp. Your guide will point out all facilities, sleeping tubes and take you on a tour of the camp. Snacks and hot drinks will be available shortly after.
Dinner will be served between 6 - 7 pm. Every evening we will have a campfires where we can share our favourite moments from the day or you could watch and enjoy the sunset. Before we all say good night and go dream about the ocean, we will have a quick talk about the next day's schedule.
Day 2 : Outer Islands

-

What happens if the weather is bad for my trip?
If you are on a multi day trip, we will adjust our route to paddle in sheltered areas. Paddling in the rain can be a wonderful experience when dressed correctly. If we encounter a serious rainstorm or very strong winds and it is unsuitable to be on the water, we will go hiking and tidal pooling, stay in camp and drink warm beverages, play cards, or read a favourite book. Your guides will make sure that everyone is comfortable and happy, regardless of the weather we may encounter.
-
What should I wear for my tour?
We recommend quick dry shorts or pants (trousers) and a quick dry shirt. Please avoid cotton as it takes a long time to dry and offers poor insulation when wet. Please bring a waterproof jacket, sandals, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and an extra layer for the boat ride.

For detailed information on insurance coverage, please contact your insurance or travel agent. You will be requested to sign a waiver prior to departing on your trip.
