Tour Overview

Beautiful vistas, a cone of chips and a swirly ice cream are all on the horizon! Join us for a sightseeing adventure along North Devon’s coastline and discover some of the prettiest seaside towns nestled in coastal harbours, bays, and coves. We visit charming Clovelly, one of North Devon’s sparkling gems, as well as a trio of coastal delights; pretty Combe Martin, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. There’s also time to explore our wonderful base of historic Bideford, ideally situated for our expedition to the seaside.

Day 1 : Woolacombe

Its easy to see why visitors return year after year to the seaside resort of Woolacombe, a real gem on the spectacular North Devon coast. Offering lovely views across to Lundy Island, the stunning three-mile beach has won a whole host of awards, including the Best Beach in the UK on Tripadvisor and a Premier Seaside Beach Award for its cleanliness.

There are a range of activities on offer, from dune running and zorbing to horse riding and surfing, or you can take a catamaran trip to soak up the glorious scenery while looking out for seals and dolphins. The village itself is renowned for its friendly atmosphere and there are plenty of cafés, restaurants and shops to discover.

Day 2 : Barnstaple

Bursting with medieval charm, Barnstaple is the largest town in North Devon and one of the oldest boroughs in England. The ancient town has a rich history and was granted its charter in 930AD by King Athelstan, the grandson of Alfred the Great. Barnstaple remains a thriving market town and is characterised by its picturesque narrow streets, historic buildings and preserved centre.

Discover the remnants of the Norman castle in the oldest part of the town, stroll along the 13th-century Long Bridge and learn more about the history of the area at the Museum of Barnstaple and North Devon, where the displays range from prehistoric times to the Victorian era. There are also plenty of lovely cafés and restaurants as well as a range of shops, from quirky boutiques and traditional family businesses to high street favourites.
