Day 3 : Jaipur Sightseeing
Location: Jaipur
Jaipur, a thriving city, was founded when Maharaja Jai Singh made the strategic decision to relocate his capital from Amber to accommodate the needs of the expanding population. The ambitious and devoted astronomer Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II desired to establish a new capital that would not only reflect his royal authority, but also his profound scientific interests. The location of Jaipur was meticulously chosen for its advantageous trade and defense prospects, surpassing the previous capital, Amber. The city of Jaipur was meticulously planned in accordance with Hindu town planning principles, with nine rectangular sectors known as 'chokris,' representing the nine divisions of the universe.
Originally named "Jai Singh Pura" in honor of its founder, the city's name was changed to "Jaipur" to promote unity and cohesion. Jai Singh extended invitations to settle in Jaipur to skilled artisans, craftsmen, and merchants from various regions of India. This influx caused the arts and crafts industry to flourish, with artisans specializing in gem cutting, jewelry design, block printing, and miniature painting. Today, Jaipur has evolved into a shoppers' paradise.
Embark on a morning excursion to Amber to explore the magnificent Fort of Man Singh, a prime example of Rajput architecture perched on a hill. This fort once served as the Jaipur Maharaja's residence. Make a photo stop at the iconic Hawa Mahal along the way.
Later, visit the City Palace, an elaborate complex of royal structures that includes the Maharaja's private chambers. Its museum has an extraordinary collection of carpets and miniatures, making it a one-of-a-kind tourist attraction. The Jai Singh Astronomical Observatory, a seventeenth-century marvel of astronomical precision, is located adjacent to the palace. The observatory is outfitted with sophisticated instruments for eclipse calculations, detecting star positions, and ascendant calculations. The observatory's focal point is a remarkable 27-meter-tall sundial that can measure time with a 2 second accuracy.
Explore local handicrafts as your day comes to a close. Jaipur is renowned for its textiles and gems, making shopping there a unique experience. Return to your hotel to spend the night.

Day 11 : Varanasi Departure
Location: Varanasi
Varanasi, frequently referred to as India's oldest living city, is steeped in profound spirituality and history. It is widely believed to be Lord Shiva's sacred abode, embodying the concepts of liberation, spirituality, and salvation. Hindus regard a pilgrimage to Varanasi as a sacred duty they must fulfill at least once in their lifetime.
The city is famous for its ghats, a series of intricate steps that descend gracefully to the revered banks of the holy Ganges River. These ghats play pivotal roles in numerous religious ceremonies, acts of purification, and rituals of cremation. Varanasi has approximately eighty such ghats, each with its own significance. Among these, the Dashashwamedh Ghat stands out as one of the most prestigious, renowned for its grand evening Aarti ceremony, a vibrant and elaborate worship ritual dedicated to the river that attracts devout crowds.
Varanasi's religious tapestry is woven with Hindu traditions with deep roots. Ablutions, the chanting of sacred mantras, and the offering of prayers to the rising sun are performed by devotees at dawn. Pilgrims and believers alike enjoy peaceful boat rides along the Ganges at sunrise and sunset, immersing themselves in the spiritual atmosphere of the city. In addition, Varanasi is replete with temples dedicated to various Hindu deities. Among the most notable are the Lord Shiva-dedicated Kashi Vishwanath Temple, the Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, the Durga Temple, and the Tulsi Manas Temple. In addition to serving as places of worship, these sacred sanctuaries serve as examples of intricate architectural craftsmanship and historical significance.
A quintessential Varanasi experience begins before dawn with a tranquil boat ride on the revered Ganges River, observing the pious as they immerse themselves in its holy waters for spiritual purification. After this spellbinding experience, return to your hotel for a hearty breakfast. Afterwards, embark on an enlightening excursion to Sarnath, the holy site where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon after attaining enlightenment.
Lord Buddha, the revered founder of Buddhism, inaugurated the "Dharmachakra Pravartan" by delivering his seminal sermon at Sarnath, marking the beginning of the Buddhist community known as the Sangha. Sarnath is revered as one of Buddhism's four holiest sites.
During your visit, you will also have the chance to explore the silk weaving centre, which displays the world-famous silk brocades of Varanasi. You may also choose to engage in some retail therapy.
